About Us

Hanan Abu-Ateih is a Palestinian, born in Jordan and currently residing in Canada. Hanan’s education in Quran studies and Tajweed have begun at al Shatibiyyah Institute (now referred to as Jazriyaah Institute).

Sister Hanan has studied Maten Tufatul Atfaal , Maten Al Jazriyyah , texts of Khaqaani  poem  and have completed Qiraa’aat crash course. She has earned her IJAAZAH in the Qir’aah of Hafs from Shaykh Uthman Khan.  Her experience includes volunteer teaching at various institutions like Sayedah Khadijah Center and Al Shatibiyyah Institute.  She currently teaches Quran and Arabic Language at Mercy Mission Madinah  and at Al Huda institute, all located in Mississauga, Ontario.  Furthermore,  she teaches Quran to various students online. In addition to her current work, she is occasionally selected as a guest judge for Quran competitions at select academic institutions. Recent contests have included the QQC (Qira’atul Qur’aan Competition) for Ontario University Students, the TMH Quran Competition, the Olive Grove School Competition as well as the ISNA Canada Quran Competition.
